Alison Grant's love for singing was realised at a very young age. As a little girl she was constantly singing at home. At school, a teacher thought it would be a good idea for Alison to have singing lessons as it was already clear she had a talent. She soon began attending classes on Sunday mornings at Weekend Arts College (WAC) and continued to do so for five years. Alison entered her first talent contest aged 15, singing an 'a cappella' version of Mary J Blige's "Be Happy" with which she won! At 16, Alison began to write her own material, and quickly realised that song writing came naturally to her.
Since then, Alison Grant has worked with various top producers including Soul II Soul and Dodge (Beverly Knights' ‘Made It Back'). Then, between 2002 and 2004 she provided the backing vocals for Terri Walker, which included appearances at the Glastonbury Festival and the Mercury Music Prize as well as on TV shows such as 'Later with... Jools Holland'. She has also found the time to perform backing vocals for Lemar on his album ‘Time to Grow'.
Jason Price of ICE-PR Ltd first saw Alison perform at an Open Mic Night, and was completely mesmerised by Alison's impromptu performance. Since then Alison has been recording numerous tracks at the Funky Bunker Studios working closely with in-house producers Jason Price, Tim Russell and Kaya Oliviere (a.k.a Jai Cruz). Her debut album, preliminarily titled "Pen to Paper", is set for release in early 2008.
