BIOGRAPHY

Roots rock reggae revolutionary Dan Bowskill a.k.a. Danny Vibes was born in 1983 to a Ghanaian father and British mother. Dan attributes his reggae influences all the way back to before he was born and his mother used to attend underground reggae clubs. Dan also recalls his mother saying that he used to kick her from inside the womb whenever she would play Gregory Isaacs albums. It goes without saying that Dan Bowskill grew up heavily influenced by reggae music contemporaries such as Bob Marley and the Wailers, Ras Michael and the Sons of Negus, Aswad, and of course Gregory Isaacs.

His first recording experience was 11 years ago at the age of 13 at a friend's four track home studio, Dan improvising lyrics and melodies to his friend's simple acoustic guitar sounds. His late teenage years saw him winning 3rd place at a reggae talent show at Hackney Empire called "Sunsplash Selector". It was here that he was approached by Franz Job who invited him to join "Roots Conquest" and record at Conscious Sound Studios.

During that time, Dan began working with reggae dub producer/sound man Rus Disciple and released a single entitled "I Believe" in Europe that gained reputable notoriety in Italy. At that same time, Dan and Franz under "Roots Conquest" entered the "Urban Voice", a national talent show and won 1st place in 2001. This success allowed them the opportunity to record for a week at Island Records Studios, which resulted in an EP that was released under Paradise Entertainment.

Realising their collaborative potential, Dan and Franz formed their own group "The Hiites" also known as "The Legendary Reggae Duo". Due to positive feedback from his contemporaries, they began recording professionally at Rollo Armstrong's studio which led to the release of the compilation called "The New Sound of Reggae" which was released on the Kingston 5 Label. Dan's personal ambition led to the decision to pursue a solo career and he left "The Hiites" in November 2005.

A few weeks after the split, in a moment of precognition, Dan Bowskill decided to stand outside of EMI Publishing where he encountered Jason Price and Michael Olivere of Inner Circle Universal Ltd. Dan approached them and after talks with Jason was offered a contract to record an album, which was completed in 2007. Dan was given creative license on every aspect, including co-production. Currently Dan Bowskill is preparing for the launch of his much anticipated world debut. Dan has already cultivated an international fan base that is poised for the arrival of his debut album "More than Music" and the introductory single "Holy Land" featuring Black Rein. Get it here, now!
